Speed Mitigation

Efforts are in progress. As of January 2021, the following mitigation alternatives have been installed or implemented.

  • Three-speed limit signs were installed in several areas on Shannock Lane.
  • Four stop signs were installed in Fox Turn on Sangarville Circle. Shannock Lane, Rexford Way, Hebron Lane, and Cranston Ave.
  • A speed radar sign was installed on Sangarville Circle. The average incoming speed is 19 MPH. The Maximum incoming speed has decreased from 79 MPH in April to 43 MPH in Sept. Still needs improvement but going in the right direction.
  • New golf course crossing signs installed on Bottsford and Cranston

  • Thirteen new committee members were approved for various Oak Creek committees. Thank you for volunteering.

Meetings:

Community:

  • Oak Creek had eighteen community volunteers for the Potomac Watershed clean-up project held on April 10, 2021. Thank you to all who participated.
  • Tier One of the Pest Waste remediation initiative was approved by the Board of Directors in June 2021. Six pet waste pick-up reminders were posted in various areas of concern on Mary Bowie Parkway.
  • The Pbar has been installed on the pedestrian bridge located off of Turner Wootton Parkway and Bottsford. This has stopped vehicular traffic from driving over this pedestrian bridge.

There are few projects in progress and work scheduled for completion by the end of 2021. Updates are forthcoming.

Have a great week,
